Mountains, Hills, Plains, and Valleys
The Book of Mormon record includes various geographical details in its narrative of the Nephite, Lamanite, and Jaredite peoples. Several geographical features such as mountains, hills, plains, and valleys are the locations of many battles and significant Book of Mormon events.
What’s the point?
Being familiar with these geographical features helps us to visualize many of the stories in the Book of Mormon and become familiar with the geography of the ancient people’s of the Americas. Book of Mormon prophets also use mountains, hills, and valleys in symbolic ways, especially Isaiah.
