Covenant-making is an eternally significant doctrine. From the beginning of mankind, God has commanded His children to covenant with Him. The Book of Mormon is full of interesting examples of making covenants, oaths, and other promises. Not all promises were with God, but each was significant in the Book of Mormon story.

What’s the point?

The more we learn about the role of covenants in the lives of ancient people, the more they become important and living to us today. We learn that covenants aren’t just going-through-the-motions kind of thing, and we learn of the danger of making secret oaths and combinations.
