There are 3 accounts in the scriptures presented here that give genealogy from Noah to Abraham. One in Genesis 11, another in 1 Chronicles 1, and another in Luke 3. The Genesis and Chronicles accounts are identical (though different in spelling). However, in the Luke account an extra name is inserted between Arphaxad and Salah. This shows that not all the accounts are correct.
What’s the point?
Many other churches may argue that everything in the Bible is perfect and complete. But this is a simple evidence that the Bible does have mistakes. It is possible ancient historians made a mistake when copying the Bible and an extra name (which is identical to another name in the Adam to Noah line).
